Explosion in West Los Santos Area NR25002

Richman: Los Santos Police Department's (LSPD) Major Crimes Division, Federal Investigation Bureau (FIB), and the Bureau of Firearms, Alcohol, and Tobacco (FAT) investigate the University of San Andreas, Los Santos Bombing.

On February 13, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., an explosion occurred on the University of San Andreas, Los Santos campus. LSPD officers, along with emergency services upon arrival, discovered an active fire, damage to the exterior of a campus building, a partially intact explosive, and civilians fleeing the scene.

Reports indicate that an explosive device was remotely detonated from an unattended bag. The explosive was only able to be partially detonated. LSPD officers, the LSPD Major Incident Response Team (MIRT), and the Los Santos Fire Department (LSFD) responded to the incident, securing the area and tending to the scene. The active fire was later extinguished.

There have been no reported injuries or fatalities in this incident. 

Federal Investigation Bureau (FIB) and the Bureau of Firearms, Alcohol, and Tobacco (FAT), have taken charge of the investigation. The Evidence Response Team has been deployed to collect and analyze evidence and determine the origin and nature of the explosive device. Witnesses are being interviewed, and security footage from the surrounding area is under review. The FIB's Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS) has been charged with using state-of-the-art tools and services to provide critical information to law enforcement, national security, and intelligence community partners across the globe. It is too early in the stages of the investigation to correlate this incident with the Vespucci Promenade Bombing.

The investigation will be subject to review by the Chief of Police, the Board of Police Commissioners, and the Office of the Inspector General to ensure thoroughness and compliance with investigative protocols. Law enforcement agencies are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward to assist in identifying those responsible for this tragic event.
